Northeast India is a land of the ‘seven sisters’; i.e. the states of Assam, Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura, Manipur; with Sikkim as the eight state. The Seven Sister states have a contiguous border but Sikkim is separated by West Bengal. With their vibrant cultural heritage, rich reservoir of natural resources, rich biodiversity, mind-blowing architecture, picturesque landscapes, colorful festivals, the Northeast states still remains an unknown for Indians in the rest of the country. By not understanding their local culture, we easily offend them.
