A 2nd edition of Jal Mahotsav in Madhya Pradesh will be held from 15 Dec, 2016 to 15 Jan, 2017. Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation will host the second ‘Jal Mahotsava’ from December 15, 2016 to January 15, 2017.
The famous ‘Jal Mahotsava’ will be held at Hanuwantiya Island, located in Khandwa district. Hanumantiya tourist complex has been developed at cost of about Rs. 10 crore by the state tourism department to host the water tourism festival in the backwaters of the dam on Narmada River.
Tourists from near and afar will participate in Jal Mahotsav amidst festive mood and enthusiasm and can visit naturally formed islands in Narmada backwaters.
During the period, tourists come face to face with islands in backwaters of Indirasagar Dam and other uninhabited places. Tourists from faraway places get a chance to experience the highly beautiful and fascinating island, and indulge in range of outdoor activities.
Activities at Jal Mahotsav
