The road trip from Delhi to Leh is for sure fascinating, but its time we get over it and take roads less traveled. I am talking about traveling all the way to foreign countries, solely by road.

Yes! There are bunch of countries one can go in the comfort of their cars or (Bikes). Drive through this absolutely epic routes that leads to foreign lands:


Nepal

Drive all the way through the forests, a view to the world’s highest peaks and some booze. You will witness some amazing things on your route to Nepal. There might be some interference with border patrols- if so it is advisable to board on the bus. Start from Delhi and get on the Gajraula route in Uttar Pradesh. Take another stretch to Moradabad and then to Rudrapur, and drive straight to Khatima. Fuel up the tank at Banbassa as the next petrol pump is only at Nepal, 5 kilometres away.

China

It might be a long journey, but now it is possible to drive all the way to China by car. Only the problem you might face is getting hand on independent travel pass, which might take numerous numbers of days to get approved. Also, you would need a Tibet travel permit. Drive to Nepal, Kathmandu and then to Lhasa and Xining via Qinghai railway.

Kyrgyzstan

There are 2 passes open between China and Kygryzstan: 1. The Irkshetam Pass and 2. The Torugart Pass. Both the passes are accessed from Kashgar in China, with the Torugart Pass taking you to Naryn (Kygryzstan) and the Irkshetam Pass taking you to the very remote town of Sary Tash (Kygryzstan) and from there on to Osh in Kygryzstan´s Fergana Valley.

Uzbekistan

Iran

Malaysia
